Intuitive Eating

Intuitive eating is an evidence-based approach that promotes a healthy relationship with food by encouraging individuals to listen to their body’s hunger and fullness cues. Instead of focusing on rigid diets or food restrictions, intuitive eating empowers Veterans to trust their own internal signals to guide eating choices. This approach can help improve physical and mental well-being by reducing stress around eating, promoting satisfaction, and supporting sustainable, lifelong healthy habits. Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) work with Veterans to help implement intuitive eating principles, address emotional or disordered eating patterns, and foster a more positive, balanced relationship with food and body.
